The 18000 Sq. ft. Laboratory at SIMS Hospital, Chennai, is a state-of-art facility that is one of its kinds equipped with cutting-edge technologies and is an integral part of patient care. The department of Lab services has a team of skilled doctors, who bring a rich experience with them to handle even rare and complex cases.

At SIMS Hospital, the laboratory services range from routine blood tests – such as total cholesterol, Pap test and white blood cell count – to complex, gene-based, line probe assay and microbial identifications. The lab unit performs medical tests that aid in the diagnosis or detection of diseases, measure the progress or recovery from a disease or confirm that an individual is free from disease. The unit has specialized expertise in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases and neurology. The experience and expertise in tissue diagnosis at the Pathology lab includes immunohistochemistry and Frozen sections not only for diagnosis, for surgical margins as well.
